Love someone? Pray for them!

As a teenager we all get to that point where we love someone sooooooooooo much that they're all we think about, no matter what we do we just can't seem to get them out of our minds. Believe me I know! Well first off you're not alone, there are many teenage Christians like you and me who are in love with someone lots whether they love you back or not.
Does it feel like it's distracting you from God too much though? Does it feel like there are now two different yous? There's the you that is fully focused on God and loved him and only wants to serve him and no one but him, then there's the you that's in love with that girl/boy so much they're all you can think of. No matter what you do you can't stop thinking about them. Does it feel like these two just can't go together? Like you have to make a choice between the girl/guy of your dreams and God? Well let me tell you it doesn't have to be that way! God is a god of love! God loves to see people in love, you only have to look at the creation story, in genesis 2 it talks about God creating man (Adam) (verse 7) and then God makes him a companion, woman (Eve) and in verses 23-24 it says "this is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called woman for she was taken out of man. For this reason a man will leave his mother and father and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh."
here Adam and Eve have fallen in love, and The bible tells us that man and woman are supposed to join together as one in marriage. God loves to see people in love! Now I know you guys probably aren't thinking about marriage right now but there are many other examples in the bible where we hear of love. And the point here ( and really of his whole entry) is that God likes to see people in love. So instead of trying to choose between God and that special guy/girl why not bring them together! Theres so many ways this can be done but here's just a few simple ideas for if you're in a relationship:
1. Pray! Ask God if that person is the person you are supposed to be with.
2. If the person is a Christian talk about with them, talk about how much you are in love with them (they'll love to hear that!) but also tell them how much you're in love with God.
3. If the persons not a Christian talk to them about Jesus. If they love you too they'll listen even if they're not interested in God and of course tell them how important they are to you but also how important God is to you
4. Pray for them!
5. Pray with them!
6. Bring your love for them to God, tell him how you feel about him and about that special person.

And if you're not in a relationship with that person but you're in love with them, and this can be in loads of different ways, if they don't know for example, or maybe they don't like you back, don't get disheartened....instead why not pray for them!!

This is key, I strongly believe that if you and I all prayed for the girl/guy of our dreams for the rest of our lives, every single day their lives will change dramatically, and it might the person you're dating/are married to, it might be an ex you still love, or someone who doesn't know you like them, or someone who even rejected you! (we've all been there!) just love them! Just love them and I believe one perfect way to do that is not to send them texts all the time or presents or dream about them, instead pray for them! Just pray for their lives, pray they know/will know Jesus, pray they're happy etc. That's true love my friends!

And my final point is that it doesn't matter if you love them so much they're getting in the way of God, because that can be overcome! And there's a simple way to do it! Whenever you're thinking about them, or dreaming, or they hurt you, or they've made you happy or even while you're with them why not just pray? Why not tell God how you feel and tell him you want to still love them but you want to keep God as main priority :)

God bless guys, hope this was a bit helpful :):)
